To meet the needs of starry sky photography, OM System has launched a special model called E-M2020 Mark III ASTRO based on the high-end model E-M1 Mark III launched in 1. It is boasted to be equipped with a special infrared filter that can capture H α rays, thereby allowing the red light and appearance of the nebula's edge to be presented more clearly.
Although it is based on the E-M1 Mark III and also supports handheld high-resolution image shooting, real-time image synthesis, and continuous shooting via a USB-C external power supply, it is not recommended for general shooting scenarios because it has an infrared filter installed in front of the image sensor to capture H-alpha rays and form clear nebulae and other star images.
In addition, the E-M1 Mark III ASTRO can also be equipped with the light pollution suppression filter BMF-LPC01 and the soft light filter BMF-SE0 to reduce the impact of light pollution such as street lights, and make the light softer, making the stars in the night sky more obvious.
There are currently no plans to introduce it to the Taiwanese market, so the specific launch price in Taiwan cannot be confirmed for the time being.
