Olympus earlier announced the launch of the new OM-D E-M1 Mark III and PEN E-PL10 cameras, both of which emphasize convenient portability and provide a better shooting experience.
Among them, the OM-D E-M1 Mark III, positioned as a high-end model, is equipped with a 5-axis anti-shake design. When paired with a lens that also supports anti-shake design, it can achieve a vibration correction effect of up to 7.5 levels.
The sensor boasts a 2037 million pixel specification and utilizes the new TruePic IX image processor, enabling ultra-high-resolution handheld shooting up to 5000 megapixels. Using a tripod, this allows for ultra-high-resolution shooting up to 8000 megapixels. Furthermore, the camera incorporates a Live ND filter design with a total of five levels of neutral density, allowing even lenses without a neutral density filter to achieve the desired neutral density effect.
The OM-D E-M1.2 Mark III features an f/1 aperture lens and can shoot up to 18 frames per second with full-pixel continuous shooting using AF/AE tracking. It also boasts a 121-point autofocus system and a rear joystick for adjusting the focus point. The body is constructed of magnesium alloy with a weatherstrip design, ensuring dust and weather resistance. It also recharges via USB-C.
As for video shooting, the OM-D E-M1 Mark III supports 4K or C4K video recording with body shake stabilization, and supports cinematic OM-Log 400 wide color gamut performance. The viewfinder color rendering effect can also be presented in Full HD BT.709 format. In the pre-shooting Pro Capture mode, up to 35 images can be recorded from the first press of the shutter to the second press. In the new real-time synthesis mode, segment information will only be added to the synthesis when the exposure of the captured image changes, and long exposure shooting of up to 6 hours is supported.
The PEN E-PL10, a compact camera launched simultaneously with this release, targets the market needs of female users and offers lively color options. It can also be used for selfies with a pull-down touch screen.
The PEN E-PL10 is equipped with a 1600-megapixel sensor and a TruePic VIII image processor, and the body is equipped with a 3-axis anti-shake design, making it easy to use for handheld selfies, indoor photography, food photography, and travel photography.
In this announcement, Olympus also announced the launch of zoom lenses including the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO, which will be compatible with the newly unveiled OM-D E-M1 Mark III.
The OM-D E-M1 Mark III is expected to launch on February 1799.99th for $2 body-only, while the PEN E-PL24 is already available for $10 in white, brown, and black. The newly released M.Zuiko Digital ED 599.99-12mm F45 PRO lens is expected to launch on April 4.0th with a suggested retail price of $4.
