選擇在8月31日這天，預期是為了呼應NVIDIA在1999年8月31日推出旗下第一張採用GeForce品牌名稱的顯示卡－GeForce 256。
According to market forecasts, NVIDIA will announce at least three consumer-grade graphics cards built with the Ampere display architecture. Some of these may be equipped with up to 24GB of display memory, potentially supporting image processing capabilities up to 8K resolution. They are also expected to adopt a PCIe 4.0 port design, and the new graphics cards will replace the existing GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, GeForce RTX 2080 Super, and GeForce RTX 2070 Super.
In addition to NVIDIA's announcement of new consumer-grade graphics card products, Intel also recently announced that it will launch Xe display architecture graphics cards for general market use this year.
