Previous news indicated that if NVIDIA wanted to acquire SoftbankAcquisition of Arm, it would have to be purchased at a price of at least US$320 billion, but with Arm's market value continuing to increase in recent years, some believe that the final transaction amount will be more than US$400 billion.

Sources indicate that NVIDIA and Softbank are accelerating their agreement to acquire Arm, with confirmation expected as early as the end of August. Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son previously stated that he hopes to expedite the divestment of Arm assets, not only to attract potential buyers but also to consider relisting Arm.

But judging from the transaction situation, reselling Arm to other buyers will naturally enable Softbank to obtain sufficient funds more quickly to make up for the losses caused by its investment in the past few years.

Softbank had previously approached Apple through Goldman Sachs about acquiring Arm, but Apple's interest in the deal was apparently muted. However, NVIDIA, which has collaborated closely with Arm in recent years and is leveraging the Arm architecture for supercomputing applications, is clearly interested in acquiring Arm assets.

According to previous views, if NVIDIA acquires Arm, it will help NVIDIA's recent focus on supercomputing systems based on the Arm architecture and integrate it with the development of its own GPU-accelerated computing applications. At the same time, it will not affect the development of mobile phone processors that currently rely mainly on Arm architecture design.

Arm co-founder Dr. Hermann Hauserview, are opposed to the resale of Arm to NVIDIA, believing that once NVIDIA holds Arm assets, it may cause changes in the relationship between it and Arm's partners, which in turn will affect the development of Arm's existing business.
