NVIDIA earlier announced the launch of the RTX Broadcast Engine technology resource, which will be able to achieve real-time green screen background removal effects in live streaming services such as Twitch through GeForce RTX series graphics cards built on the Turing display architecture.
According to NVIDIA, the RTX Greenscreen AI computing model in the RTX Broadcast Engine technical resources will be able to remove the background effect by distinguishing the user's body outline, and even synthesize other background images.
The AI computing power of the GeForce RTX series graphics cards will allow live streamers to easily achieve the same background removal effect without having to purchase specialized green screen equipment. NVIDIA has partnered with the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) community to make the RTX Broadcast Engine technology easily available across various live streaming platforms.
In addition, the RTX AR SDK development tool can further capture the user's facial expression captured through the video camera and apply different 3D graphic content in real time, allowing users to "change faces" in a similar way to Apple Memoji. The RTX Style Filters tool resource can also convert the images captured by the video camera into animations or other styles.
Streamlabs and XSplit have already partnered with NVIDIA to implement these technical resources. NVIDIA will also release its RTX encoder, which can be used in live streaming tools such as Twitch Studio and Discord Go-Live. It will also be compatible with hardware devices such as the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro Mk II HEVC, thereby improving image quality and stability during live streaming.
