NVIDIA earlier offered its services to CoreWeave, a company focused on AI cloud infrastructure.$20 billion investment (Approximately NT$630 billion) to expand cooperation between the two parties, with plans to accelerate the construction of a 5GW (megawatt) "AI Factory" by 2030, which will incorporate...NVIDIA's next-generation Rubin computing platform.
In this investment, NVIDIA purchased Class A common stock of CoreWeave at a price of $87.20 per share. Through this deepened collaboration, CoreWeave will leverage NVIDIA's accelerated computing technology to build and operate AI factories, while NVIDIA will provide assistance in supply chain aspects such as land development and power dispatch.
In terms of technical specifications, both parties confirmed that they will introduce multiple generations of NVIDIA infrastructure, including NVIDIA's next-generation Rubin computing platform, Vera CPU, and BlueField system, which are expected to be deployed directly on CoreWeave's computing infrastructure.
In addition, the two parties will also test and verify CoreWeave's AI native software and reference architecture (such as SUNK, CoreWeave Mission Control, etc.) to improve interoperability and plan to integrate them into NVIDIA's reference architecture for cloud partners and enterprise customers in the future.
CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator stated in the official blog that current AI development is transitioning from the experimental stage to formal production applications, making it even more important to build high-performance, scalable, and durable infrastructure.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey, CoreWeave was originally a cryptocurrency mining company called Atlantic Crypto. As the cryptocurrency market changed, the company successfully transformed itself, shifting its massive GPU computing power, originally used for mining, to high-performance computing (HPC) services. In recent years, it has focused on providing GPU cloud services for AI infrastructure.
CoreWeave went public on Nasdaq last March and announced a $224 billion deal with OpenAI in September of the same year, demonstrating its significant position in the AI computing power leasing market. This direct investment from NVIDIA further solidifies CoreWeave's role as a key partner in NVIDIA's AI ecosystem.
