During Gamescom 2025, NVIDIA announced that its latest Blackwell display architecture was officially introduced into the cloud gaming platform GeForce NOW, bringing the largest upgrade ever, directly pushing cloud computing performance to the GeForce RTX 5080 level, and introducing DLSS 4 multi-frame generation, support for up to 5K resolution, and 120fps streaming experience specifications, while adding AI-driven image optimization and more cloud storage functions.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said that the introduction of the Blackwell display architecture into GeForce NOW will enable any device to become a gaming platform comparable to a high-end gaming PC, providing more stunning image quality, faster frame rates, and almost negligible latency.
RTX 5080 cloud streaming specifications, AI-powered image quality enhancements
The upgraded GeForce NOW Ultimate solution will provide up to 56 TFLOPS of computing performance and 48GB of video memory, support ray tracing and AI-enhanced rendering, and when combined with Reflex technology, it can achieve a 1080fps display frame rate at 360p quality, with the delay from click operation to screen response as low as 30 milliseconds.
In addition, through the global NVIDIA SuperPOD computing resources, NVIDIA claims that it can reduce network latency for players in most regions to within 30 milliseconds.

The new Cinematic-Quality Streaming (CQS) theater-quality streaming mode combines 4:4:4 chroma sampling, 10-bit HDR display, AV1 encoding, and AI image filters to enhance color accuracy, edge sharpness, and clarity in high-speed scenes. It also automatically detects the laptop screen resolution and outputs the image with the best streaming quality.

The game library instantly doubles, and the Install-to-Play feature is launched.
The current 2300 Ready-to-Play cloud game lineup included in GeForce Now will be doubled to over 4500 with the newly added Install-to-Play feature, allowing players to download from their personal inventory on platforms such as Steam to cloud storage for play.
Among them, members who subscribe to the Ultimate and Performance plans can enjoy 100GB of single-time cloud storage space, and can pay to expand it to 1TB of capacity, allowing games to be retained for a long time without re-downloading and installation.

The first wave of AAA games to be available on the GeForce Now cloud streaming service include Borderlands 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Dying Light: The Beast, The Outer Worlds 4, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 7. A large number of independent games and subsequent new releases are also expected to be included in the service.

Broader cross-device support, free trial for Discord
The upgraded GeForce Now service will be able to increase display output performance to 90fps on Steam Deck or Lenovo's Legion Go S, and some LG OLED screens can stream 5K image quality when directly connected to a PC/Mac. In addition, a dedicated GeForce Now service app for LG TV models that natively support 4K 120Hz HDR display output will also be launched.
Other updates include adding native support for multiple Logitech racing wheel controllers and allowing Mac users to use the GeForce Now service with Blackwell display architecture performance.

In addition, NVIDIA also announced a partnership with Discord and Epic Games, allowing players to experience a free one-hour GeForce NOW streaming version of "Fortnite" directly on the Discord platform, allowing them to play with friends instantly even if they don't have the game installed.

Phased rollout from September
The GeForce NOW service, featuring the upgraded Blackwell graphics architecture, will be available starting in September. The monthly membership fee for the Ultimate plan will remain at $9 (or $19.99 for a six-month subscription), while the monthly membership fee for the Performance plan will be $99.99 (or $9.99 for a six-month subscription). Both plans offer annual membership plans.
However, if you want to be the first to experience the cloud streaming game service with RTX 5080 display performance, it is currently only available in the Ultimate plan.
