Nutanix announced the launch of the Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box solution, which will help customers quickly realize artificial intelligence and machine learning innovations while maintaining control of their data.
Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box is a fully software-defined AI platform that helps organizations scale and configure the appropriate hardware and software infrastructure to deploy large-scale language models and execute advanced open-source AI and MLOps frameworks on the Nutanix cloud platform.
At the same time, this artificial intelligence platform also allows customers to easily obtain AI-friendly infrastructure for fine-tuning and executing generative pre-trained transformers (GPT), including large language models used in edge environments or data centers.
Enterprises often face concerns about data sovereignty, governance, and privacy in public cloud environments. Many are exploring how to quickly, efficiently, and securely leverage generative artificial intelligence, as well as artificial intelligence and deep learning applications, to improve customer service, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.
Many companies see opportunities in applying AI, from automated transcription of internal documents to high-speed search and automated analysis of multimedia content. However, growing concerns about intellectual property leakage, compliance, and privacy, as well as the sheer cost of AI investments, are holding companies back on AI and machine learning strategies.
Therefore, the Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box solution provides customers with a ready-to-use AI control infrastructure that can be used in edge environments or data centers. It also allows customers to execute and fine-tune AI and GPT models while maintaining data control. Nutanix also provides a complete set of security and data protection solutions for AI data protection.
Nutanix also announced Project Beacon, a data-centric PaaS-level service that can be used anywhere, including Nutanix or on-premises public clouds. This decouples applications and their data from the underlying infrastructure, allowing developers to build applications once and run them anywhere.
“Project Beacon represents our vision to enable developers to write applications once by providing a data-centric PaaS service that is independent of a single infrastructure vendor,” said Rajiv Ramaswami, President and CEO of Nutanix.
We want to enable enterprises to fully enjoy the benefits of hybrid multi-cloud not only at the infrastructure layer, but also extend these benefits to the application data layer."
As part of Project Beacon, Nutanix integrates Kubernetes container orchestration clusters through a single API and console. Through consistent management across environments, Nutanix provides a platform service that organizations can trust and use in public clouds, on-premises, or at the edge, ensuring operations teams have full control over data governance, protection, and compliance.
