"Notre-Dame de Paris: Journey Back in Time", which was first presented at the UNESCO headquarters on European Cultural Heritage Day last year and was nominated at this year's South by Southwest Virtual Cinema 2020 in the United States, was earlier announced by Ubisoft to be launched for free on the Steam platform.
Notre Dame Cathedral was almost completely destroyed by a fire in April last year. During the reconstruction and renovation, Ubisoft announced that it would restore the splendor of Notre Dame in digital form.
"Notre Dame de Paris: A Journey Back in Time" is based on the content of "Assassin's Creed: Unity" created by Ubisoft in the past. It uses 3D modeling technology to reproduce the posture of Notre Dame de Paris and took more than 5000 hours of drawing production under the guidance of historians.
Ubisoft stated that players will be able to view the original Notre Dame Cathedral from multiple perspectives, even from previously unavailable angles, while experiencing the atmosphere of 18th-century Paris. In addition to experiencing the architectural features of Notre Dame in VR, players can also delve into the details of this historic monument while listening to Bach's music played on an organ.
