Recently announced the separation of independent operationsCMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, earlier announced the launch of the new full-face headphones Headphone Pro, which provide active noise reduction (ANC), Hi-Res high-quality sound certification, LDAC lossless audio, and a unique "Energy Slider" tuning function at a price of less than $100, directly challenging the market position of flagship headphones.
Unlike Nothing's Headphone 1, which featured a strong, boxy design, the CMF Headphone Pro opts for a softer, more traditional design, with a rounded headband and generously sized earcups, similar in style to the Sony WH-1000XM series. The earcups themselves are interchangeable and available in three colors: light gray, dark gray, and light green. Bright orange and light green replacement earpads will be released later, allowing users to customize their look.
In terms of core specifications, the Headphone Pro features 40dB adaptive active noise cancellation, dynamically adjusting the noise reduction intensity. Officially, it blocks out up to 99% of external noise. Its sound quality is Hi-Res certified and supports LDAC codec, ensuring high-resolution audio output regardless of wireless or wired connection.
The battery life is up to 100 hours when active noise cancellation is turned off, and can still last for 50 hours even with active noise cancellation turned on. It also supports fast charging function, which can provide another 4 hours of listening after just 5 minutes of charging. It can also be reverse charged through the USB-C port of some smartphones, which meets the needs of modern mobile use.
The user interface differs from most flagship headphones. CMF has deliberately retained physical control buttons, including a Bluetooth/power button, customizable shortcut buttons, and a multi-function joystick for volume, playback, and switching between active noise cancellation and ambient sound. Furthermore, the most distinctive feature is the Energy Slider, allowing users to quickly adjust bass and treble performance without having to navigate the app.
The Headphone Pro is priced at just $84 and will officially ship on October 6th. Compared to the hundreds of dollars price tag of the Sony WH-1000XM6 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra, the CMF headphones offer near-flagship-level noise cancellation and sound quality at a price point under $10, undoubtedly appealing to consumers who are both price-conscious and design-conscious.
