In the case of the tariff policy recently signed by US President Trump, which affects the tariffs of many countries and regions with the United States, it also affects Nintendo's recently announcedNintendo Switch 2Pre-order event in the US.
IGN gaming website reported thatNintendo has currently suspended the Nintendo Switch 4 pre-order event originally scheduled for April 9th local time in the United States, and will evaluate the impact of the new tariff policy proposed by the US government.
However, the Nintendo Switch 2 will apparently still go on sale in the US market on June 6th. However, since Nintendo has now moved its game console production line to Vietnam, and Vietnam will be subject to a 5% import tariff under the new US policy, this means that the price of the Nintendo Switch 46 in the US market will be increased.
It is currently unclear how Nintendo will adjust to this tariff change. If it chooses to absorb the cost of the tariff increase on its own, the huge sales scale of the US market may cause Nintendo to face huge costs. Therefore, it is possible that the product will face price increases before it is even launched. However, the specific situation will still have to wait for Nintendo's subsequent announcement.
