After announcing the launch of its first full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Z6 and Z7, last year, Nikon earlier announced the launch of the Z50, a mirrorless camera with an APS-C format design. It adopts a lighter and more affordable design to capture the new user demand market.
The Z50, about which a lot of information has been leaked earlier, is indeed targeting a more affordable setting. Not only is the price relatively acceptable, but the body weight is also relatively light with a weight of only 397 grams.
As for the lens mount, the Z50 also uses the Z-Mount mount specification, while the image sensor adopts a 2080-megapixel design and the DX specification corresponding to the APS-C format. Compared with the full-frame image sensor, the image sensor area is reduced by about one-third.
The body is smaller than the Z50 and is equipped with a 260 million-dot electronic viewfinder. The back of the camera uses a touch screen that can be flipped downward 180 degrees. The top of the camera is equipped with a set of dials and two sets of dial interfaces, as well as two sets of function buttons and a dial design for adjustment.
The camera supports up to 10 frames per second (with continuous autofocus and auto exposure enabled) and supports both a mechanical shutter and a silent electronic shutter. It also supports 207 phase detection points and artificial eye autofocus, and has a sensitivity of up to ISO 51200, which can be expanded to ISO 204800.
錄影功能部分,Z50支援無裁切4K@30fps拍攝效果,甚至可支援1080p@120fps拍攝模式。
However, the Z50 does not have an in-body shockproofing design, and the shockproofing effect is mainly achieved through the lens. Paired with the new 1120mAh EN-EL25 battery, the Z50 can shoot approximately 280 or 320 frames (depending on whether the electronic viewfinder is turned on). The body is only equipped with a single SD memory card slot, and it only supports the highest SDXC UHS I standard.
The two kit lenses that come with the Z50 are the DX 50-250 f/4.5-6.3 VR and the Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR. Both lenses are equipped with 4.5-stop anti-vibration function.
In terms of price, the Z50 body alone is priced at US$860 and is expected to be officially launched in November this year. The price of the two sets of kit lenses is US$11 and US$1350 respectively.
