In addition to unveiling its flagship Nikon D5, Nikon also showcased two new cameras ahead of CES 2016: the KeyMission 360 action camera, designed to capture 360-degree panoramic images, with the ability to view them through a virtual reality device. It also introduced the new high-end Nikon D500, which primarily serves as a successor to the previous D300s.
Among the new cameras launched this time, Nikon also unveiled the KeyMission 360 action camera, which can shoot 360-degree panoramic images. It can withstand drops from a vertical height of 2 meters and is protected underwater to 30 meters. The completed images can also be viewed through a virtual reality device. The highest image quality can even correspond to 4K resolution specifications, and the electronic image stabilization system can prevent shaking from affecting the shooting effect.
Separately, Nikon also announced the new high-end DX-format Nikon D500, which will replace the previous D300s. Like the earlier-announced Nikon D5, it features the same EXPEED 5 processor, 153-point focus system, and 2090-megapixel sensor. It also adds RAW mode, enabling continuous shooting at 10 frames per second, 4K video recording, and can be linked to a mobile phone via a dedicated app.
