At BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard Entertainment explained updates to the World of Warcraft franchise, including new content for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Rebirth, and the seasonal event for World of Warcraft Classic, which will launch on December 12st. Furthermore, World of Warcraft will feature the Worldsoul Saga as its primary storyline, spanning three expansions: War to the Core, Midnight, and The Last Titan.
The new changes and content of the classic version of "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm" will be released in 2024. It will add a level cap of up to 85, add new werewolf and goblin races, and a new professional skill "Archaeology". It will also add modern gameplay features that were not available when it was launched in 2010, and increase the gameplay rhythm and upgrade speed. At the same time, it will also add the expanded collection interface that was first added to the classic version of "Wrath of the Lich King", and the "Titan Rune Dungeon System" that debuted in the classic version of "Wrath of the Lich King" will also return.
In addition, Blizzard Entertainment will also make two new combo packs available for purchase starting today. The "Blazing Heroes Edition Combo Pack," priced at NT$937, includes the "Flying Ragnaros Mount" and "Ragnaros the Rasmus Pet," usable in both the Modern and Classic versions of the game, as well as the "Twilight Cultist Shaping Set" and "Goblin in a Box Toy," which are only available in the Classic version.
The "Blazing Epic Edition Upgrade Pack" sold for NT$2499 includes all the items in the Hero Edition package, plus a level 80 character boost service (with progress-matched equipment, backpacks, and a small amount of gold), and 30 days of game time.
The Exploration Season, which will launch on December 12st and can be experienced on the Classic server, will include the following new features and unique rules:
• Runes:Players must search the world for special runes that grant new abilities, some of which were never previously available to World of Warcraft Classic classes.
• Rune Engraving:Players can apply a certain number of runes through "Rune Engraving" and switch skills when not in combat, inspiring players' experimental spirit.
• Level cap increases gradually:The level cap for the Exploration Season will start at level 25 and slowly increase over time, allowing players to gain a progressive end-game experience at every level.
• Classic Dungeon Remake:The level cap of each stage will provide new content to experience, starting with the level 25 Black Stream Abyss 10-player team dungeon. This dungeon was originally a 5-player upgrade dungeon. After the remake, it will include redesigned boss encounters, providing players with exciting challenges to test their own styles.
• World PvP Events:In addition to the new team dungeons, the upper limit of each level range will also host world PvP events, allowing players to compete against each other to test new skills. Ashvale will be the first level 25 PvP zone.
The three subsequent expansion packs of "World of Warcraft" announced this time will be based on "The Chronicle of the World's Soul". "War to the Center of the Earth" is expected to be released in 2024, and the subsequent "Darkest Night" and "The Last Titan" will complete the Chronicle trilogy.
