Netflix earlier asked BroadcomInitiate a lawsuit, referring to the cloud computing company it recently acquiredVMwareInfringement of its virtual machine technology patent.
According to Reuters, Netflix believes VMware has infringed on at least five of its patents related to virtual machine operations, including VMware's vSphere virtualization platform for deploying and managing virtual machines.
However, Netflix and Broadcom have not responded to this.
Before this, Broadcom had actually accused Netflix in 2018Infringement of its patents related to video streaming technology, and filed lawsuits in California, Germany and the Netherlands. The US region is expected to open a trial in June 2025.
