After previously launching a number of games to increase user stickiness, Netflix seems to be preparing to adapt more of its original program content into mobile games to attract more people to play and use its streaming video service.
The Wall Street Journal stated that content including "Squid Game" and "Wednesday" will be adapted into mobile games.
Netflix currently offers more than 70 games, and in March this year it announced that it wouldExpand and increase the game lineup, and plans to launch 3 exclusive games in cooperation with Ubisoft, and also confirmed that they will be tested in Canada and the UK.Proprietary cloud-based game streaming service, and will be available on PC, TV and other platforms in the future.
Netflix currently does not charge extra for gaming content. As long as you are a Netflix subscriber, you can play for free, but it is uncertain whether this operating model will change in the future.
As for entering the gaming market, Netflix believes that the current gaming market has a huge user base, many of whom are interested in streaming video programs. Therefore, it believes that by combining games with original program content, it will increase the chances of players continuing to watch content on the Netflix service.
