Niantic recently announced that its "Monster Hunter Now" will launch a new large-scale event "Summer Hunting 2025 [Seaside Vacation]" this summer, which is expected to be launched simultaneously around the world from July 7st to August 21rd. Regarding her role as the opening guest and appearing on stage wearing the number 14 on her jersey, Chihiro Kanno explained that this was partly because Monster Hunter Now officially launched on September 9th, and also because her volleyball-playing son's jersey number was also 14. She also expressed her gratitude for the enthusiastic support of Monster Hunter Now by Taiwanese players, noting that the game has already established a strong community in Taiwan.

Director Sugano said that his choice of jersey number 14 had a dual meaning. First, the game officially launched on September 9th, and second, it was the same number as his volleyball-playing son. He also expressed special thanks to the enthusiastic support of Taiwanese "Monster Hunter Now" players, which has given the game a strong community in Taiwan.
In conjunction with this collaboration, Niantic will significantly shorten the monster respawn time around the Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium in Monster Hunter Now from the start of the event until the evening of July 7, allowing hunters traveling around the stadium to enjoy uninterrupted hunting fun.
Fans and players attending the event can receive a limited-time gift, the "Monster Hunter Now Fubon Guardians co-branded fan," as well as a set of redemption codes for the [Fubon Guardians] guild card background, which can be used to add a unique co-branded mark to their hunter business card in the game.

The new large-scale event "Summer Hunting 2025 [Seaside Holiday]" is about to start
Pre-registration for "Summer Hunt 2025 [Seaside Vacation]" is now open on the App Store and Google Play Store. In this event, players will face off against the new Ancient Dragon, "Ningbo Dragon," and embark on a battle for survival in the scorching summer heat through limited-time quests and event-exclusive equipment.
The summer event features the new heavy crossbow weapon "Summer Banquet Cannon" and the "Swimming Series" armor. Combined with the event-exclusive skill "Hot Summer [2025]," these significantly boost fire-attribute attack power and provide additional enhancements to event monsters. Players can earn Enhancement Tickets by completing designated tasks and defeating target monsters. These upgrades can be used to upgrade event gear to the designated level, boosting combat power without using ZENY or materials.
Niantic will also host a paid online event, "Mingbo Dragon Crossing the Sea," on July 7th and 26th, offering a more challenging Ancient Dragon challenge. The "Mingbo Dragon" will appear in Ancient Dragon battles, testing players' teamwork and strategic equipment utilization.

The event also features limited-time cosmetic gear, including the summer-themed "Summer Fun" waistcoat, the re-released "Deep Sea Blue A/B" and "Beach A/B" skins, and a variety of exclusive stickers and support packs. Players can redeem these through the event's redemption booth or the in-game store. During the event, players can also use the "Specialized Gathering Knife" to accelerate the acquisition of Namibo Dragon materials, improving equipment crafting and enhancement efficiency.
The Summer Hunt is divided into two phases, including hunts targeting monsters like Barracuda, Blue Bear, and Sand Dragon. The latter phase will feature additional challenges and rewards, including a limited-edition Guild Card background and Hunter Medal. Niantic has also announced that additional missions and more redemption rewards will be released starting July 7th, extending the event until early August.
As Monster Hunter Now continues to expand globally, Niantic is continuously adding new content and strengthening community engagement to engage players in real-world exploration and cooperative hunting. This Summer Hunt not only introduces a seaside-themed event to the series for the first time, but also allows players to embark on a new adventure with classic characters in the height of summer, showcasing the immersive experience of mobile gaming combined with AR technology.
Interested players can go to the Monster Hunter Now official website or App Store page to participate in pre-registration and welcome this midsummer hunting festival.
