Researchers at MIT have announced that their years-long collaboration with South Korean beauty group Amorepacific to develop "Skinsight," a wearable "electronic skin" platform, has been selected as a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honorees.
Integrating Bluetooth sensors to track four major skin indicators in real time.
Skinsight is a Bluetooth-enabled sensor patch that can be directly applied to the skin and works in conjunction with a mobile app.
This patch provides instant insights into skin aging, with its sensors continuously tracking four key metrics:
. Skin firmness (skin tightness)
. UV exposure (UV exposure)
. temperature (temperature)
. humidity (moisture)
AI App analyzes data and recommends customized skincare products
The data collected by Skinsight will be sent to its AI-powered app. Based on these readings, the AI will analyze how different factors cause or accelerate skin aging, and then recommend the most suitable skincare products for the user's current skin condition so that the user can incorporate them into their daily skincare routine.
The development team emphasizes that the patch is designed to be breathable and sweat-resistant, allowing it to be worn for extended periods and to continuously monitor skin data.
Listing Information
Skinsight is expected to make its official debut at CES in January 2026. As for the specific release date and price, Amorepacific has not yet released details.
