In response to inquiries from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft's Xbox, revealed that the company announced its investment in development in 2018.The Elder Scrolls VI, still needMore than 5 yearsIt will be officially launched.
Phil Spencer also explained that since the game is still a long way from release, it is still unclear which platforms it will be released on. One reason for this is that by the time the game is released, the market may have already been prepared or the next generation of consoles may have been released, making it difficult to determine which consoles it will be released on.
Phil Spencer also revealed that the development team originally responsible for producing "The Elder Scrolls 6" later invested in "Starfield" which was scheduled to be released in September this year, thus delaying the actual release time of "The Elder Scrolls 9".
The news that "The Elder Scrolls 6" was put into development was first announced at E2018 in 3. Not much information was revealed at the time. Even in 2020, Bethesda confirmed that there would be no news about this game in the next few years.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is currently accusing Microsoft of acquiring Activision, believing that its acquisition will create a market monopoly and affect the development of the gaming market. Therefore, it is also preparing to question whether the acquisition of Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax will involve platform monopoly in its game development and affect the rights of game players.
