Before the E3 2021 event begins, Microsoft explainsNext, we will lay out the cloud streaming game service layout, which confirmed that it will expand cooperation with TV brands, allowing users to connect the controller through the TV and log in to their personal account to play. In order to further expand the cloud streaming game experience, Microsoft also plans to create a device similar to a TV stick so that ordinary screens can also use its streaming game service after being connected.
While Microsoft hasn't yet revealed specific TV brands, it's likely to include top brands like Sony, Samsung, and LG. As for the details of the TV dongle that will support streaming game services, there's currently no concrete information.
On the other hand, Microsoft also confirmed that the Game Pass Ultimate subscription plan, which includes streaming game services, will enter the Australian, Brazilian and Japanese markets in the second half of this year. In the future, the cloud streaming game service will be directly integrated with the Windows PC version of the Xbox App, allowing users to play streaming games directly through Windows PC. Xbox game consoles can also use streaming game services to add the function of experiencing the game in a streaming mode before downloading.
As for the expansion of game content, Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to expand the Xbox Game Pass game library content by releasing at least one Microsoft original game every season in the future.
Other details include confirmation that the previously tested mode in PWA format, which allows iOS platform users to play games through the Safari browser, has now become an official feature of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which means that users can use the streaming game service through browsers such as Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Chrome. At the same time, the streaming game server will also fully upgrade its hardware specifications, which will enable the streaming game content to be used with higher resolution and larger screen sizes.
Currently, it appears that investing in cloud gaming will be a key development project for Microsoft. It is also expected to reach more users and increase Xbox brand exposure through cloud-based gaming experiences, thereby increasing support for the Xbox gaming platform. However, Microsoft has currently stated that cloud gaming is not the only future focus, but rather a key element of a comprehensive strategy. Game consoles will remain the core of the Xbox brand, and therefore, the continued promotion of cloud gaming services will not reduce the proportion of game console development.
In an earlier statement, Microsoft further statedAlready started developing the next game console, thereby emphasizing that game consoles are still a key project for future development.
