Related news claims, Microsoft will announce the completion of its acquisition of Activision Blizzard as early as October 10.
Prior to this, Microsoft had successfully obtained the EU's approval for this transaction. Although the UK Competition and Markets Authority had previously expressed its opinion on this transaction, Microsoft's subsequent agreement to transfer the cloud streaming game distribution rights in the UK to Ubisoft generally indicated its agreement to the transaction.
The US Federal Trade Commission previously objected to Microsoft's acquisition and filed a lawsuit against the company. However, the court later ruled that the acquisition did not constitute a market monopoly. Although the FTC still disagrees with the ruling, it is clear that it is unlikely to block the acquisition before the closing date.
Therefore, if the UK Competition and Markets Authority does not raise any objections next week, Microsoft is expected to announce the completion of its acquisition of Activision Blizzard for US$687 billion next week.
After the transaction is completed, Microsoft will become the world's third largest gaming company, second only to Tencent and Sony.
