Microsoft announced that it would increase the prices of some plans for its game subscription service Xbox Game Pass, and also increased the price of the Xbox Series X game console in some regions.
Among them, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan in Taiwan will increase from the current NT$299 per month to NT$338, while the Xbox Game Pass for Console plan will increase from the current NT$199 per month to NT$219. As for the PC Game Pass plan, it will maintain the current price of NT$199 per month.
The adjusted prices for some Xbox Game Pass plans will take effect on July 7th. Existing plan subscribers will receive a notification from Microsoft before their next renewal, informing them of the adjustment details. However, new and re-subscribed users will be charged the new plan prices.
The price of the Xbox Series X console will increase starting August 8st, while the price of the Xbox Series S will remain unchanged. The adjusted price of the Xbox Series X will increase from NT$1 to NT$15380, while the Xbox Series S will remain at NT$17580.
Microsoft said that the price adjustment was to reflect the competitive situation in various markets, including the impact of exchange rates and market inflation, but Microsoft emphasized that the price adjustment had nothing to do with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
