Microsoft earlierAnnounceIn the entry-levelGame Pass Core, and the standard version subscription service Game Pass Standard has added Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming service, allowing more players to use the service that was previously only available in the Game Pass Ultimate subscription plan, while also expanding the user scale of its streaming game service.
This adjustment will first be tested through the Xbox Insider program, allowing Game Pass Core and Standard plan subscribers participating in the test to play supported games included in the Game Pass subscription plan directly through the cloud. This also includes the ability to play some of the users' own games through cloud streaming. This means that players do not have to be limited by device performance. As long as there is an Internet connection, they can play games at any time through streaming on their mobile phones, tablets or other supported devices.
Microsoft's Xbox Insider program team stated that in this Xbox Insider test experience, Game Pass Core and Standard subscription plan users will be able to play cloud-supported games or games that some players have already purchased through streaming. This echoes Microsoft's current practice of making the cloud an extended part of its gaming services, and also makes streaming gaming services no longer an exclusive experience for high-end subscription users.
However, the full Xbox Cloud Gaming experience is still limited to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, meaning that the streaming gaming experience available with different subscription plans will still vary, and may be differentiated in terms of streaming resolution, image quality, and other aspects.
Since this adjustment is still in the test version, there may be different adjustments in the official version that will be released later. According to previous statements, Microsoft may launch a free streaming version of the game supported by advertising exposure, but this cannot be confirmed at the moment.
