FromOfficially launched in October last yearUntil recently, Microsoft hadn't offered a standalone Windows 11 license. Users could only upgrade to it by purchasing a new PC or by upgrading from a previously licensed Windows operating system. Now, Microsoft has finally opened the door for consumers to directly purchase a licensed Windows 11, allowing DIY PC builders to upgrade directly.
However, Microsoft has not specifically promoted this, and currently only providesWindows 11 HomeAndWindows 11 ProThe two versions of the license are sold at $139 and $199.99 respectively, which are basically the same price as Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.
In fact, this Microsoft page was launched as early as May this year, but Microsoft obviously did not specifically mention or promote it. Ordinary users still obtain Windows 5 by purchasing a new PC, or upgrade to Windows 11 for free through the legally licensed Windows operating system of Windows 10. Obviously, Microsoft hopes to use this to drive existing Windows 11 users to upgrade to Windows 10, and at the same time attract more people to buy new PCs equipped with Windows 11.
The current low-key service page for purchasing licenses may be related to Microsoft’s recent announcement of the number of current users of Windows 11.It is already growing at twice the rate of Windows 10 upgrades., and it is also related to the fact that more than 14 billion people have used the Windows operating system. Therefore, it is expected that by providing Windows 11 operating systems that can be directly purchased with licenses, more users with needs will be attracted to purchase them.
