In the recentOffice Insider ProgramIn the preview content released, Microsoft has finally added the Scribble handwriting-to-text function provided by Apple in iPadOS 14. This will allow users to directly insert text content converted from handwriting into Word, PowerPoint, and Excel using Apple Pencil on iPadOS.
along withiPadOS 14 versionThe Scribble handwriting-to-text feature, which has been newly available, allows users to write directly with Apple Pencil in the text field on iPad and quickly convert it into digital text through recognition, thereby saving users the tedious process of frequently switching text input modes.
The addition of this feature to the new version of Office for iPadOS will make it more convenient for more users to process document content on iPad, and they will also be able to edit documents in a more intuitive way.
Currently, this feature will be provided through the Office Insider Program testing plan, and the test version can be downloaded through the TestFlight channel. The official version is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
If you want to use this feature, you must also confirm whether the iPad you are using can enable the Scribble handwriting-to-text function. Currently, it is only available for iPad Pro compatible with the first or second generation Apple Pencil, or the third generation iPad Air, as well as the fifth generation iPad mini and the sixth generation iPad and later models. The operating system must be updated to iPadOS 14 or later.
