Following earlier Forced Xbox Series S announcedOfficial name and priceLater, Microsoft announced the specific specifications of this entry-level model.
Previously touted as the smallest Xbox ever, this console is 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X. While its performance isn't as high as the Xbox Series X, it still delivers 1440p@120fps display performance and supports 4K gaming and 4K content playback via upscaling.
Like the Xbox Series X, the Xbox Series S also supports real-time ray tracing, variable refresh rate, and variable rendering rate, allowing games to run without lag. However, compared to the Xbox Series X, the built-in SSD capacity is reduced to 512GB, and it is not certain whether it uses the same special external SSD port as the Xbox Series X.
As for the launch date, Microsoft has not yet officially announced it, but it is likely to be launched on November 11, and the Xbox Series X may also be launched at the same time.
On the other hand, the Project xCloud streaming game service, which has previously been confirmed to be incorporated into the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription program, will also become a key development product for Microsoft in the future, and is expected to target different user groups than the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
After Microsoft begins to announce the price and release date of its new next-generation consoles, Sony is expected to announce them soon.PlayStation 5 Release Information.
