At the FMS 2024 event held in Santa Clara, California, Micron announced the development of PCIe Gen 6 data center SSD product technology to accelerate the future artificial intelligence revolution.
Prior to this, Micron announced the launch of a new model for data center useMicron 9550 NVMe SSD, boasting the world's highest access speeds and delivering higher workload performance and energy efficiency in artificial intelligence computing. Furthermore, this SSD integrates Micron's proprietary controller, NAND, DRAM, and firmware design to deliver best-in-class performance, enhanced energy efficiency, and security features tailored to data center operational needs.
Micron announced the industry's first PCIe Gen 6 SSD, which boasts a continuous read bandwidth of over 26GB per second. Micron said this technology is based on the Micron 9550 NVMe SSD design and will promote the development of the PCIe Gen 6 technology application ecosystem and further accelerate the development of artificial intelligence technology.
During Computex 2024 this year, Micron announced itsNew generation GDDR7 graphics memorySamples have already begun shipping. Leveraging 1-beta DRAM technology and a new architecture design, it can achieve data transfer rates of up to 32Gbps and a system data transfer bandwidth of 1.5TB/s. Furthermore, four independent channels enable lower latency, driving the application of higher-resolution, automated artificial intelligence technologies or enabling the transmission of higher-resolution image processing data such as real-time ray tracing.
