Business InsiderAn internal Meta memo indicates that Meta appears to be planning to postpone the release of its next-generation mixed reality (MR) glasses, codenamed "Phoenix," from the original 2026 date to the first half of 2027.

Meta's next-generation mixed reality glasses, "Phoenix," are reportedly delayed until 2027, and are planned to adopt an external computing unit design.

Strive for "breathing space" and pursue a more mature experience.

The report quoted Maher Saba, vice president of Meta Reality Labs Foundation, as saying in a memo that the main reason for the delay was to ensure that the product could provide a more "polished and reliable" user experience.

In another memo, Gabriel Aul, Vice President of Product and Engineering at Meta Reality Labs, and Ryan Cairns, Vice President of Horizon OS and MR Devices, added that the new release schedule will give the development team more breathing room to optimize the product.
