The glasses will be available in the US on September 9th with a suggested retail price of US$30. This new product will be available withThe second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and the sports-oriented Oakley Meta Vanguard were also updated simultaneously. These form Meta's smart glasses product line for this year, strengthening its layout in wearable devices and AR ecosystems.
The appearance continues the classic Ray-Ban sunglasses design, and it also has a built-in camera, microphone and speaker. The biggest feature is the translucent head-up display (HUD) configured on the right lens as a screen, which can display messages, reminders, application content and video call screens in real time.
Users can operate through gestures, including sliding their fingers to type replies to messages, or use the Meta Neural Band EMG wristband, which comes with every pair of glasses and is claimed to be waterproof, to recognize gestures through electromyographic signals.
In terms of functions, it supports taking photos, displaying real-time subtitles, playing Spotify music, or conducting first-person perspective live broadcasts. It can also display calendar information and other information in real time, and reply through voice, emoticons or quick sentences.
On the other hand, Ray-Ban Display also has the same functions as Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, including real-time translation, conversation focus, and the newly added Live AI function, allowing users to continuously interact with Meta AI.
