Previous previewA more comprehensive web version of Threads will be launched. It has finally been officially launched and is open to all users to log in and use.
Previously, the Threads webpage primarily served as a guide for users to download the iOS or Android app. While posts could be accessed through the URL, responses and other interactions were still restricted to the app. With this update, users can now log in to their personal accounts or link to their Instagram accounts, and then reply and interact.
However, the content search function that was previously revealed to be added does not seem to have been added at this stage. It can only search for user accounts. In addition, the function of searching for content with specific tags is not yet available. Meta does not seem to have plans to add a private message function to Threads. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram,thinkThere is no need to add more channels for sending and receiving messages, thereby causing users more information anxiety.
The launch of a more fully functional web version shows that Meta hopes to improve the sharp decline in the number of Threads users. However, whether the launch of the web version can successfully convince more users to continue using the service remains to be seen.
