Vivek Sharma served as the head of marketing and gaming business at Facebook for the past six years. He later moved to the Metaverse business department, promoting virtual reality community interaction platforms including Horizon Worlds. He was also responsible for Horizon Workrooms, which was designed for online collaborative work needs, and Horizon Venues services integrated with physical events.
A Meta spokesperson did not disclose the reason for Vivek Sharma's departure, but stated that the Horizon product portfolio currently has sufficient team members to operate and will continue to promote the development of Metaverse applications.
After Vivek Sharma leaves, the Horizon team will report directly to Vishal Shah, Meta's vice president who is currently in charge of the metaverse business.
