Meta recentlyPreviewIt will be announced on June 6th, Pacific TimeSmart glasses in collaboration with OakleyLater, it was confirmed earlier that this collaborative smart glasses will be named Oakley Meta HSTN, and emphasize the development of "Performance AI" applications.
Focusing on sports groups, combining AI and 3K lenses
The Oakley Meta HSTN's design continues Oakley's classic HSTN sports glasses design, and is equipped with a 1200 ultra-wide-angle, megapixel lens that supports shooting 3K resolution video. It is also equipped with an LED privacy light that can indicate whether it is in use, and the camera lens is located on one side of the frame.
In addition to being used for photography, POV first-person video calls, and live streaming, the glasses, paired with Meta AI, can also instantly analyze what the camera sees, providing users with "see-and-ask" semantic responses.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckberg stated on Threads that these smart glasses are "born for action" and are positioned more closely towards outdoor activities and sports. The glasses are also equipped with Oakley's iconic Prizm and Prizm Polarized filter lenses to filter out outdoor ultraviolet rays and enhance visual contrast.
Longer battery life and faster charging
In terms of battery life, the Oakley Meta HSTN can provide up to 8 hours of daily use and a standby time of up to 19 hours. In addition, although the dedicated storage charging box is not waterproof, the built-in battery can provide an additional 40 hours of battery life and can charge from 22% to 0% in 50 minutes, or to 45% in 85 minutes.
Open-ear headphones with five microphones, support for AI assistant and real-time translation
The glasses have built-in open Bluetooth speakers and five sets of microphones, which can be used to answer calls, voice messages, play music, and communicate directly with Meta AI. The side of the frame supports touch gestures for easy adjustment of volume and other operations.
In addition, Meta is gradually promoting the real-time translation function of smart glasses. In the future, Oakley Meta HSTN will support semantic conversion and object recognition through the lens image. It can also be connected with the "Be My Eyes" barrier-free visual assistance platform to help the visually impaired obtain remote support and realize more complete assistive applications.
A smart assistant for sports, the first version is available in limited quantities
Meta emphasizes that this pair of glasses is "Performance AI smart glasses" that can provide real-time environmental situational analysis information, such as checking the current wind speed on the golf course to help adjust the shot strategy and other practical scenarios.
