After the news came out, Microsoft and Meta officially announced the launch of their cooperationLimited co-branded Xbox version of Quest 3S, and is now available in the US and UK. This version not only features the classic Xbox black and green color scheme, but also comes with an Xbox Wireless Controller and Touch Plus handheld controller, further expanding virtual reality applications and enhancing the cloud gaming experience.
The Xbox version of Quest 3S offers 128GB of storage capacity and a built-in Elite Strap headband to enhance stability and comfort when worn. It also comes with a three-month Meta Horizon+ and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription service, allowing players to play Xbox platform games in a virtual space through cloud streaming.
In addition to operating through the Xbox Wireless Controller, Quest 3S is also compatible with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox Adaptive Controller, and third-party game controllers including Backbone Pro, allowing players to choose control options based on their own operating habits.
Although the Xbox co-branded version is slightly more expensive than the standard version of Quest 3S, at $399.99 (the standard version is $299.99), it can additionally integrate the Xbox gaming ecosystem and support accessories and subscription service usage experience. For users who want to have a deeper understanding of the integration of virtual reality and cloud gaming, it still has a certain appeal.
Currently, this limited edition is only available on Meta's official website, Best Buy in the US, and Argos and EE in the UK. Meta also pointed out that the "quantity of this co-branded Xbox version of Quest 3S is extremely limited" and is expected to attract many core players who like to combine Xbox and virtual vision applications.
