MediaTek has announced the launch of the Pentonic 700, a TV processor that supports 4K 120Hz refresh rates. Related application products will enter the market in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Pentonic 700 processor features artificial intelligence (AI) image quality optimization technology, supports Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail, 4K 120Hz motion compensation technology (MEMC), 4K 120Hz timing controller (TCON), and game screen optimization technology. It also supports variable refresh rate (VRR) technology up to 144Hz and HDMI 2.1's automatic low latency mode (ALLM). For networking, it supports Filogic Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 wireless networking solutions.
The Pentonic 700 processor also integrates MediaTek's artificial intelligence processor (APU), supporting MediaTek's AI-driven ultra-high-resolution imaging (AI-SR), AI-PQ Scene Recognition (AI-PQ Scene Recognition), and AI-PQ Object Recognition (AI-PQ Object Recognition) technologies, providing image edge smoothing and detail reconstruction capabilities. For audio, it supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision Gaming technologies.
Dolby Vision IQ precision detail technology enhances the contrast between bright and dark areas, revealing even greater image detail. Other features include Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and Picture-by-Picture (PbP) support on a single screen, allowing for simultaneous viewing of multiple signal elements, ideal for home entertainment, office meetings, and more.
