MediaTek launches Kompanio Ultra 910 flagship processor for the new Chromebook Plus, boosting AI computing capabilities
Kompanio Ultra 910 is MediaTek's flagship processor for Chromebooks, delivering 50 TOPS of computing power for AI processing, enabling on-device processing of generative AI experiences.
Its built-in MediaTek 8th-generation NPU can provide fast, secure, and efficient offline AI computing processing capabilities on the device side, and has functions such as real-time task automation, personalized computing, and smooth AI operation processes.
The hardware specifications are produced using a 3nm process and follow the Dimensity flagship positioning processor. It also adopts an all-large-core CPU architecture design, including the Arm Cortex-X925 CPU core, with a maximum operating clock of up to 3.62GHz, providing the industry's highest single-threaded and multi-threaded performance, and is capable of handling heavy loads and multi-tasking such as video editing, content creation, or high-resolution gaming.
In terms of battery life, MediaTek also stated that the Kompanio Ultra 910 can handle a full day of power usage. Combined with power management and a high-capacity chip cache design, battery efficiency is improved, allowing it to meet the needs of long-term work, watching streaming videos, etc. on a single charge.
In addition, the Kompanio Ultra 910 also supports multi-screen display output, can be connected to two external 4K monitors, and has Hi-Fi audio processing capabilities to ensure clear call quality and a more immersive sound experience. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 wireless connection specifications.
Chromebooks powered by the Kompanio Ultra 910 processor are expected to be available in the coming months, but MediaTek has yet to announce the initial wave of partners.
