Qualcomm is preparing to unveil its next-generation flagship processor, Snapdragon 2023 Gen 8, at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 3 in Hawaii. MediaTek also announced earlier that it will hold a summit at 11 pm on November 9th.Dimensity Flagship Chip New Product Launch, it is expected to unveil the new generation Dimensity 9300 processor.
MediaTek even described its upcoming processor products as the "all-big-core era," apparently echoing previous rumors that the Dimensity 9300 processor will increase the number of big cores to improve overall computing performance.
According to previous statements, the Dimensity 9300 may be composed of a combination of 4 Cortex-X4 CPUs, 4 Cortex-A720 CPUs, and an Immortalis-G720 GPU. However, it seems that it is also possible to maintain a single Cortex-X4 CPU, plus a combination of 3 Cortex-A720 CPUs and 4 Cortex-A520 CPUs, indicating that MediaTek is trying different core combinations to achieve a better balance between performance and power consumption.
Qualcomm processors have historically been the preferred choice for many mobile phone products due to their performance. However, in recent years, they have come under pressure from MediaTek's Dimensity processors, with even long-term partners increasing their use of MediaTek processors. This seems to have forced Qualcomm to recognize the growing threat posed by MediaTek. Consequently, Qualcomm is incorporating more application features into its new Snapdragon processor designs, hoping to solidify its position as the processor of choice for many mobile phone brands.
