After the announcement in the US market, Logitech quickly announced the professional environment use demand in the Taiwan market.MX Master 4 high-end business mouseAccording to the release information, both Windows and Mac versions are available, and two colors are available: graphite gray and pearl white. The suggested retail price starts at NT$4190. It will be available for sale first at Logitech flagship stores and online flagship stores in Taiwan, as well as PChome, MOMO Shopping, and Shopee Shopping channels starting from October 1st, and is expected to be sold in all channels in Taiwan from October 6th.
The updated MX Master 4 maintains an overall appearance similar to the MX Master 3S, but has been fine-tuned in details. For example, the weight has increased from 141 grams to 150 grams, and the width and height have also been slightly enlarged to provide a fuller palm coverage.
The biggest highlight is that Logitech has brought haptic feedback (Haptics) to desktop mouse design for the first time, allowing users to get subtle feedback through the built-in vibration module in the thumb area during operation. For example, subtle vibration prompts can be felt when performing operations such as low battery reminders, switching between devices, or aligning objects in application software such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
Although this feature is currently optimized for only a few applications, in the future, SDK resources will be available to allow more software developers to create application features that support haptic feedback.
Another new design is the Actions Ring, which allows users to quickly call up shortcut menus for different application scenarios through the side button. For example, calling up the screenshot tool in Chrome, or directly adjusting the brightness and contrast in Photoshop, making mouse operations more in line with professional work needs.
The MX Master 4's top cover is made of lightly textured plastic, replacing the previous rubber coating that was prone to peeling due to sweat and prolonged use. However, the sides and thumb rest retain the rubber material to maintain a comfortable feel. Furthermore, the bottom slider is made of a larger PTFE material for smoother operation.
Other details include a new USB-C receiver (Windows only), further adjustments to the side scroll wheel, a translucent design around the button edges, and exposed bottom screws for easier retraction. As for the user experience, the electromagnetic scroll wheel still offers switching between paragraph and free-scrolling modes, the ultra-quiet buttons maintain a good feel, and the battery life remains up to 70 days.
However, the new model still has some limitations, such as the input reporting rate remains at 125Hz, a USB-C charging cable is not included in the package, and the Mac version no longer provides a receiver. In addition, haptic feedback must be enabled in the Options + software running state.
