Logitech earlier announced the launch of a new mechanical keyboard, Logitech G Pro X, which boasts that the key switch configuration of different blocks can be adjusted according to usage needs, thereby achieving a mixed-switch effect.
According to the current mechanical keyboard designs of various manufacturers, they usually follow the CHERRY keyboard design model and distinguish the key switch specifications using red, blue, brown or black switches. For the convenience and cost considerations of mass production, the key switches on a keyboard usually use the same specifications.
However, some players require different key switch specifications for different key configuration blocks due to their usage needs. This is why some manufacturers have launched keyboards with mixed switch designs. The Logitech G Pro X mechanical keyboard launched this time is built with this idea in mind, and incorporates a design that allows users to freely configure according to their personal needs, thus adding more freedom in form.
The Logitech G Pro X features an 92% keyboard with a 80-key configuration. The interchangeable switches sold include Logitech's own GX switches, including GX Blue, GX Red, and GX Brown. These roughly correspond to Cherry's blue, red, and brown switches, and also provide different typing feel.
Each set of replacement key switch kits contains 20 sets of key switches and comes with a set of disassembly tools. Users can configure different key switch specifications according to their personal needs to create a mechanical keyboard that better suits their needs.
If users don't want such trouble, Logitech also launched a non-detachable version of the key switches, but the key switches are mainly based on GX Blue specifications.
In terms of suggested retail price, the Logitech G Pro X will be sold at US$149.99, while the interchangeable key switch kit will be sold at US$49.99 per set. As for the non-detachable version of the key switch, the Logitech G Pro X will be sold at US$129.99.
