The Live Caption feature, which was launched during Google I/O 2019, was first used on the Pixel 4 series of phones. Google also confirmed earlier that it would make this feature available to all users by the end of this year.Available on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a series phones.
In addition, Google also confirmed that the Live Caption feature will be gradually opened to other OEM manufacturers in the coming months, but the corresponding language is currently limited to English, and other languages are expected to be added later.
Even though Google demonstrated instant and accurate speech-to-text conversion at the Made by Google event, it still stated that actual recognition may still be inaccurate, and that it will continue to improve recognition accuracy.
It is very easy to use. Just press the volume button on your phone and click the subtitle icon at the bottom of the pop-up control menu to enable the Live Caption function.
At the same time, this function does not require additional connections, and will not even occupy any network traffic during operation, and can be used across apps, services, etc.
Previously, this feature was originally designed for the hearing-impaired. It uses voice recognition to instantly convert natural conversations or conversations in videos into text, allowing users to understand the content directly through reading, and even present Google Maps' turn-by-turn navigation in voice.
