LINE YahooYahoo! Search in Japan now displays restaurant review summaries when searching for a restaurant name, allowing users to more easily assess the overall reputation of a prospective restaurant through search.
This feature will be combined with automated artificial intelligence to aggregate the key points of reviews published on Yahoo! Maps, including the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and menu recommendations. It will also automatically generate key summaries and display them in search results for users to use as a reference when searching for restaurants.
Previously, only descriptive information added by restaurants themselves would appear in search results. After this update, descriptive information will be automatically generated using artificial intelligence, allowing Yahoo! Maps in Japan to automatically add more descriptive information to over 8 newly added restaurants.
However, the prerequisite for automatically displaying aggregated information is that the restaurant has not yet established its own information input content, and it must also accumulate a certain amount of review content on Yahoo! Map. This will provide the artificial intelligence with sufficient reference information and automatically generate relevant description content.
According to LINE Yahoo, this adjustment will help more restaurants that do not have information on Yahoo! Map to be easily found by the majority of people and increase their willingness to visit and consume.
