After previously allowing Taiwanese consumers to use LINE Pay to make purchases at partner retailers in Thailand, LINE Pay recently announced the launch of cross-border payment services in South Korea, allowing Taiwanese consumers to make purchases directly through LINE Pay at partner retailers in South Korea. During the initial promotional period, Taiwanese consumers can enjoy up to 25% LINE POINTS rewards.
LINE Pay chose to launch cross-border payment services in South Korea, stating that South Korea is also a popular tourist destination in Taiwan. Therefore, in addition to becoming the first stop for LINE Pay cross-border payments, it will directly develop overseas partner stores, open payment locations, and take the lead in cooperating with brand owners to connect and sign exclusive marketing cooperation agreements, allowing both parties to invest more marketing resources and provide exclusive offers that meet consumer needs and preferences.
After this launch, Taiwanese consumers will be able to switch directly through the LINE Pay service in Taiwan and complete payments at local consumer channels in South Korea that accept LINE Pay. They can even choose to pay by contactless payment using the NFC function.
In addition, LINE Pay also provides users with exclusive localized Chinese travel information. For example, through LINE Pay's newly planned "Travel Korea Zone", users can quickly obtain recommended popular itineraries, various consumer discounts and guides, and other local travel information. In the future, users will be able to check all LINE Pay payment locations in South Korea in one place.
Currently, LINE Pay allows overseas tourists to pay for purchases in Taiwan directly through its service. Following the announcement of the launch of cross-border payment services in South Korea, LINE Pay also stated that it will continue to cooperate with more Korean brand channels to enable Taiwanese consumers to make purchases in South Korea more conveniently through LINE Pay.
