"X", formerly known as Twitter, has once again had a senior personnel change. The current CEO Linda Yaccarino earlier posted on her personal "X" accountAnnounceResignation message, endIn just two yearsleadership term, which has aroused the outside world's attention to the future development direction of "X".

Linda Yaccarino expressed her gratitude to Elon Musk in the post, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to shoulder the heavy responsibilities of "protecting freedom of speech, driving the company's transformation, and building 'X' into a comprehensive application." She also emphasized that over the past two years, the "X" team has jointly completed a historic business restructuring.
However, there are different opinions from the outside world on the achievements of Linda Yaccarino's leadership during her tenure.
Since taking office in 2023, Linda Yaccarino and Elon Musk have jointly promoted a number of reforms, including significantly relaxing the platform's content moderation system and replacing it with "Community Notes" as the primary self-regulatory tool. However, this mechanism has been ineffective, and content quality and safety issues on the platform have continued to worsen. In particular, "X"'s recently launched AI chatbot Grok has been repeatedly embroiled in controversy involving anti-Semitic rhetoric, racial hatred, and election misinformation, raising questions about its artificial intelligence strategy.
Linda Yaccarino's advertising performance has also been controversial. In 2024, a report by the watchdog group Media Matters revealed a significant amount of harmful content on "X," leading major advertisers including Mars, Unilever, and CVS Health to withdraw their advertising, impacting their advertising revenues. Linda Yaccarino, however, viewed this as a case of "restricted free speech" and even filed lawsuits on behalf of "X" against the companies involved, accusing them of an "illegal boycott."
However, the situation showed no signs of improvement, and the subsequent US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigation into whether Media Matters violated regulations by colluding with advertisers further strained relations between the two parties. Furthermore, during Linda Yaccarino's tenure as CEO, "X" actively promoted new businesses such as AI and financial services, including the X Money project in partnership with Visa, aiming to create a "comprehensive application," but so far, no significant results have been achieved.
X has yet to announce Linda Yaccarino's successor, and Elon Musk has not commented on the matter. However, the successor is expected to face enormous challenges, not only balancing free speech and content safety, but also revitalizing the advertising business and promoting the implementation of AI and payment services to regain growth momentum for X.
