It has been sold in Korea, Malaysia, India and other markets in the past, and has even recently started to be sold in Thailand.LG PuriCare Series Water Purification Bar DispenserToday (5/7), LG announced the introduction of the product to the Taiwan market, emphasizing that different regions in Taiwan have soft and hard water conditions, and an additional filter system is designed to filter hard water. It also explains that the multi-pass filtration system removes impurities, viruses, etc., and retains mineral components that are beneficial to the human body, allowing users to drink water with greater peace of mind.

Regarding the first introduction of water dispenser products in Taiwan, LG Taiwan Chairman Zheng Yuankuan stated that they will indeed compete with many existing brands in the Taiwanese market, and will also face price pressure from many Chinese brands and OEM brands. However, he emphasized that before introducing the relevant models in Taiwan, they spent a lot of time communicating with the Korean headquarters and spent about a year studying the water quality in various parts of Taiwan. Then, based on the analysis results of the water quality laboratory at the Korean headquarters, they developed a filtration system suitable for filtering hard water components in Taiwan. He also stated that they will target the market competition in the price range of more than NT$1.

LG explained that its water dispenser products use a filtration system, which does not filter out all impurities in the water into pure water like traditional RO reverse osmosis. It emphasized that Taiwan's local water sources actually contain many minerals that are beneficial to the body. Therefore, its water dispenser system mainly uses three filter elements and four-level filtration to ensure drinking water safety.
This includes using an ion exchange resin filter developed specifically for the Taiwanese market to soften hard water and reduce the formation of heavy scale. It then uses a Pre-activated carbon filter to remove arsenic, lead, selenium, chromium, cadmium, barium, antimony, nickel, mercury, or residual chlorine and volatile organic compounds in the water. It also uses electrostatic adsorption technology to remove 99.99% of the norovirus. Finally, a UF hollow fiber membrane filter is used to filter out harmful substances such as fine particles, impurities, or odorous substances.

However, LG also explained that compared to markets such as South Korea, hard water is less of a problem. Therefore, previously produced water dispenser products basically do not have a hard water filtration system. Therefore, when introducing models into the Taiwanese market, additional installation methods are required to remove hard water. However, it is expected that depending on the actual sales performance of such products in Taiwan, the company will consider whether to produce a design version that can integrate all filter systems into the device.
On the other hand, LG also stated that the water dispenser products it will introduce in Taiwan will mainly be under-sink installation versions, but it will still introduce tabletop products based on some needs. It will also consider introducing the Object Collection version with more diverse colors. It has also negotiated cooperation with relevant developers to introduce LG products in their construction projects, allowing residents to solve drinking water problems more conveniently.
At the same time, in addition to offering a single-machine buyout sales method, the water dispenser products currently introduced in Taiwan will also join LG's monthly rental beauty plan that has been launched in the Taiwanese market. It provides filter cartridge delivery and home maintenance twice a year, as well as deep maintenance every three years and a 2-year warranty on the entire machine. After the lease period ends, the user can own it.
LG also stated that it is considering offering a filter subscription plan for water dispensers sold outright, but the details are still in the conceptual stage and no specific decision has been made yet.
The water dispensers currently introduced by LG in Taiwan include an under-the-sink hot and cold water dispenser with a 180-degree rotating faucet and functions of purifying, hot water, and ice water. There is also a tabletop instant hot water dispenser that also integrates instant hot water and room temperature water functions, and a tabletop water purifier that only provides room temperature water and is suitable for small families or rentals. All three water dispensers use the same filter system, and the filter for filtering hard water materials must be installed in an external form. At the same time, all three water dispensers also support the ThinQ Internet of Things function, so the usage status of the water dispenser can be confirmed through mobile phone connection.
