According to the Korea Economic DailyRefers toLG plans to launch its own humanoid robot to compete with Hyundai Motor Group, which acquired the Boston Dynamics robotics company. It also plans to compete with Samsung in the robotics market.
LG's chief technology officer, Kim Byung-hoon, said the company is currently developing key technologies, including gesture recognition and gait recognition. The company also plans to use the Q9 artificial intelligence model developed by LG to enable humanoid robots to operate in a more natural posture.
LG also announced a partnership with Microsoft at CES 2025. Both companies will continue to invest in innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), with LG integrating Microsoft AI technology into its products. Providing access through a subscription model is expected to facilitate the penetration of robotics into a wider consumer market.
