On the eve of CES 2026, LG set the main theme of its global presentation, LG World Premiere, as "AI in Action".
LG CEO Lyu Jae-cheol emphasized at the meeting that AI should not only remain at the level of dialogue, but should be able to "step out of the screen and work for us in real life." Through three pillars—device excellence, ecosystem integration, and expansion into automotive and infrastructure—LG is attempting to outline a blueprint for a future life where AI proactively takes care of things.

LG CLOiD: An AI butler with hands and feet, enabling "zero-labor households".
LG proposed"Zero-labor households" The core vision of (Zero Labor Home) is to evolve smart home appliances into "agent appliances," and to coordinate them through a single AI system.LG CLOiD robotIt is the embodiment of this vision.
This robot is defined as a "home-specialized agent," equipped with two arms and five fingers, capable of performing fine motor tasks such as folding clothes and tidying dishes. LG emphasizes its safety and stability, ensuring it remains stable even when pulled by children or pets.
A real-world example of "AI in Action": In the scenario demonstrated by LG, when a user tells "almost home" through the ThinQ App, LG CLOiD will proactively suggest "whether to switch to indoor exercise?" based on the user's jogging habits and the current rainy weather.
If the user agrees, the robot will automatically adjust the air conditioning before the user arrives, and may even take workout clothes out of the dryer. This demonstrates that LG's AI has the ability to be contextually aware and to offer proactive suggestions.
Displays & Appliances: W6 Wallpaper TV and a Talking Refrigerator
In terms of core product lines, LG demonstrated a deep integration of hardware technology and AI:
• LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV: ThisTV with a thickness of only 9mmThrough redesigned internal architecture and miniaturized components, it achieves an ultra-thin design, as thin as wallpaper. Its Hyper Radiant Color technology enhances brightness and color, and its True Wireless Technology makes it the thinnest wireless OLED TV currently available.
• LG SIGNATURE refrigerators and ovens:New refrigeratorThe system incorporates conversational AI, allowing users to ask questions as if speaking to a real person: "LG, what's the best way to preserve meat for a week?" The refrigerator will then automatically adjust to the optimal mode, while the oven features Gourmet AI, which can identify food categories and recommend over 80 recipes.
Stepping Out of the Home: From the Car to the AI Data Center
LG's ambitions extend beyond the home. As an "Experience Architect," LG brings its device-based generative AI platform to the vehicle platform, providing in-vehicle entertainment solutions such as eye tracking and adaptive displays.
In addition, in response to the high heat challenges of the AI computing era, LG has also applied its HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) technology advantages to the cooling solutions for AI data centers, including immersion cooling technology in cooperation with GRC, and has launched B2G projects in the Middle East and other regions.
Analysis: AI has finally learned to "do it itself"
LG's "AI in Action" initiative this year represents a crucial turning point. In the past few years, smart homes have mostly remained at the stage of "voice-controlled switches" or "automated scheduling," requiring users to spend time and effort setting up or issuing commands.
The emergence of LG CLOiD and the proactive services offered by home appliances demonstrate that AI is beginning to "understand context" and can "actively perform physical actions." While achieving complete "zero-labor" automation may still be a long way off, LG leverages its strengths in home appliance motor and control technologies (Device Excellence) to extend AI from the cloud-based brain to the real-world limbs. This is the most irreplaceable value of a hardware giant in the AI wave dominated by software companies.
