Previously exposedLenovo Legion Go Windows gaming handheldLenovo announced the product information earlier before IFA 2023 officially started. It is expected to go on sale in the market in October this year, with a suggested retail price starting at US$10.
Similar to Valve's launch of Steam Deck, and ASUS's launch of ROG Ally and AYANEO, Lenovo also plans to enter the Windows game console market with the Legion Go, and add a different design to increase competitive differentiation.
The Legion Go's design incorporates detachable Joy-Con controllers similar to the Nintendo Switch, but the attachment method is different. Furthermore, the Legion Go's controllers are designed to facilitate a more convenient grip, making them particularly intuitive for first-person shooters. Alternatively, the Legion Go itself can be used as a screen to control gameplay directly with the controllers.
In terms of hardware, the Legion Go also uses an AMD Z1 Extreme processor, 16GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage capacity. The battery adopts a 49.2 WHr specification, and the screen uses an 8.8-inch, 2560 x 1600 resolution, supports a 144Hz frame refresh rate and 500 nits brightness design IPS LCD screen. It also has two sets of USB ports for users to connect various USB peripheral accessories or connect an external virtual vision head-mounted display.
As for the operating system, it also runs Windows 11, and like ROG Ally, it uses a customized game launcher similar to Amoury Crate, which allows users to centrally manage the games stored on the handheld and enable users to start them more intuitively.
