Hiroyuki Kobayashi, the game producer who was responsible for creating famous works such as the "Resident Evil" series, "Devil May Cry" series, and "Sengoku BASARA" series at Capcom in the past, announced earlier through his personal Twitter that he had left Capcom at the end of March this year and joined China's NetEase Games.
Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who has worked at CAPCOM for 27 years, joined CAPCOM in 1995 and participated in the production of "Resident Evil" released on the PlayStation platform in 1996. Later, he served as the main producer of "Dino Crisis 2" and participated in the "Dino Crisis" series, "Devil May Cry" series, "Sengoku BASARA" series, "Dragon's Dogma" and other game works. He also served as a consultant, supervisor and producer for game-adapted film and television works.
In conjunction with his 50th birthday, Kobayashi Hiroyuki announced through his personal Twitter that he had resigned from Capcom and joined China's NetEase Games. He did not reveal what content he was currently working on, but emphasized that he would continue to create game works that would attract players in a new environment.
In addition to Kobayashi Hiroyuki, NetEase Games has also recently attracted the famous producer Nagoshi Toshihiro, who created the "Dragon in the Sky" series of games at SEGA, and assisted it in establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary in Japan."Nagotsu Studio".
Earlier, NetEase Games established "Sakura Studio" in Guangdong and Tokyo in June 2020, with the goal of creating next-generation home console games. It also attracted many senior Japanese game producers to join, and even invested in the acquisition of Grasshopper Manufacture game studio owned by Goichi Suda, who created games such as "Seven Faces Slayer" and "No More Heroes" series. It is obvious that it will actively expand into the Japanese game market and plans to strengthen its content assets by recruiting many famous Japanese game producers.
