Google Cloud announced a partnership with travel experience service platform Klook. The partnership will leverage Google Cloud's self-generated artificial intelligence technology to enhance the user experience of Klook's service content and improve user interaction. This includes providing automated translation capabilities in 10 languages to attract more users to the service.
Klook had previously conducted preliminary testing by importing the PaLM 2 large-scale natural language model through Google Cloud Vertex AI Model Garden, translating existing travel information, tourist guides, and merchant service information into Simplified Chinese and Korean, achieving excellent results while also showcasing the cultural characteristics of the local market.
To ensure the translations accurately capture local language characteristics while remaining true to the brand's personality, Klook leveraged previously translated event content from its own platform to train Google Cloud's generative AI model, enabling it to generate translations in various languages, including Traditional Chinese. With each learning experience, the accuracy, local language specificity, and efficiency of the translations improved, giving Klook the confidence to expand the collaboration to encompass all event-related content.
In addition to translation, Klook will also explore the capabilities of its chatbot, K.AI (Klook AI), which leverages Google Cloud's self-generated artificial intelligence to provide customer service. The goal is to enhance data security while accurately responding to increasingly complex customer inquiries such as travel recommendations, confirming booking status, and processing related transactions.
Klook also plans to use PaLM 2’s content generation capabilities, such as automatically writing short activity descriptions and details, to provide new partners with a faster and more convenient listing experience.
In addition, Klook will expand its use of BigQuery and Google Kubernetes Engine across its data analytics and applications to further enhance its data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities, provide more personalized content and value-added services, and explore new opportunities for customer interaction.
"By leveraging generative AI, Klook is poised to significantly improve internal productivity and customer engagement, differentiate its brand and value proposition, strengthen security, and deepen customer trust," said Li Kongyuan, Managing Director, Google Cloud North Asia. "Klook has already capitalized on this opportunity, leveraging generative AI to deliver personalized, localized travel experiences, giving them a key advantage. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Klook to further strengthen its digital leadership across all its businesses through the use of cloud and AI."
