Invested by Google co-founder Larry PageKitty Hawk, a small flying car startup, earlier announced a new concept design vehicle "Heaviside", which is not only fully electric, but also emphasizes vertical take-off and landing, and produces less noise during flight than existing helicopters.
Compared to the approximately 60 decibels produced by existing helicopters, Kitty Hawk's "Heaviside" produces only 38 decibels (calculated at a vertical altitude of 450 meters), thereby improving the problem that such aircraft have often been accused of producing excessive noise in the past.
"Heavenside" also boasts features such as fast speed and small size. Now with the addition of a quiet usage mode, it may attract more people to use it after approval from relevant regulatory authorities.
Because areas like California often face traffic congestion problems, startups such as Kitty Hawk hope to solve the problem with small, fast flying vehicles that are easy to take off and land.
In addition to the Google founder's interest in flying cars, transportation-connected companies including Uber have also made significant investments in flying cars.
