The Information website quoted sources as saying that since the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use a narrower screen bezel design than the previous generation models, the initial supply quantity may be limited.
Relevant news indicates that because the new phone uses a screen produced with new technology, LG Display's OLED display panel was unable to pass product testing when it was actually installed into a metal frame, and Apple has now begun to modify the design.
However, display panels supplied by Samsung do not seem to face the same problem, so it is expected that the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can still be officially launched in the fall. It’s just that the actual supply quantity in the initial stage may be limited, and there may be a shortage of supply.
Apple faced a similar issue when it initially launched the Apple Watch Series 7, featuring a larger screen. The limited supply of the new device likely depends on whether Apple can successfully improve its display panel design.
